Johnny Ward, because that’s the name of the lucky guy, started a travel blog, OneStep4Ward, with no previous technology experience and now he is living his dream.
In the beginning, after he made thousands each month, he branched out and ended up creating a digital media company.
How many countries he has visited so far?
So far, he has explored 152 countries, while earning a million dollars over the past three years.
His mother who raised him alone, taught him to never let money hold him back and stop him from seeing the world.
For most of us, traveling the world is just a dream, but this 31-year-old is on the way to see his dream come true by exploring every single country. And while doing that he has become a millionaire and found a very attractive girlfriend to keep him company on his travelers.
Raised in Northern Ireland, Johnny grew desperate to see the world, despite lacking the finances to do so. Basically he had a story just like yours and mine, but he did something about it.
What motivates him?
With the determination to not let the money hold him back, he has explored the world and earned a lot of money, just by working from his laptop.
Until you see an example like this, you believe it’s impossible to make money by doing what you like.
Without a 9-5 working schedule, Ward has managed to meet a lot of people and get the best of his youth.
After graduating the International Economics at university in England in 2006, he spent time at a US summer camp for special needs children.
By working hard he has managed to get the money together for a one-way ticket to Thailand to teach English.
What inspired him?
He got inspired by a travel blogger who made £1,939 from their site each month; he has put his efforts into creating his own, OneStep4Ward, even though he had no previous experience.
In an interview for MailOline Travel he said:
‘My tech skills were on par with my grandmother’s, so I had a long way to go to learning that. In terms of actual blogging, I just publish the same way I talk.’
He had the determination to exceed what they were earning and working hard he has achieved this.
Ward was soon beginning to earn in around £4,000 monthly and as his blog began to grow, he ended up gaining more than he hoped for.
Now he has his own company, Step4Ward Media, and is managing over 200 sites.
Working from his laptop make Ward able to fill his day with activates that are slightly less mundane than being chained to a desk.
For example, to celebrate visiting 150 countries, the traveler spend his time with his Thai girlfriend in Seychelles.
From feeding wild hyenas red meat in Ethiopia to paragliding in the Himalayas and cage diving with great white sharks – and even bumping into Vince Vaughan in a Beijing nightclub – his life breaks the patterns of the usual daily routine in dramatic fashion.
And he was able to share this experience with his girlfriend, a flight attendant who he met in Thailand.
‘For sure, I grew up in a single parent family in Northern Ireland and we didn’t have much money so in that respect.’
‘I really really appreciate having the opportunity to see the world, to stay in these amazing hotels and do these crazy activities – sometimes I can’t believe this is my real life.’
‘Before perhaps I would take things for granted, but now I appreciate every little thing – from a Skype call with my mum, to a sea plane and plunge pool in the Maldives.’
He added: ‘I probably travel solo two-thirds of the time, the other third friends, readers, family or my girlfriend, who is a flight attendant in Thailand, come and join.
We were just in the Seychelles together two weeks ago celebrating visiting 150 out of 193 countries.’
But this couple is traveling around the world! They even brought their cat!
