12. Jean Patou Joy Baccarat Pure Limited Edition ($1,800 per fl. oz.)
As mentioned earlier, Baccarat is known for its exquisite crystal bottles. This perfume also comes in another Baccarat Pure Parfum bottle. And when Baccarat comes in play, it is nothing but a special occasion. Each year, Jean Patou only makes fifty bottles of this limited edition perfume.
The regular Joy fragrance was created by Henri Almeras in 1929. It was once voted as the perfume of the century in 2000. Each one fluid ounce bottle of Joy is sold at $800.
But this Joy Baccarat Pure limited edition is sold for a way more expensive price: $1,800. Besides its special bottle, this perfume is purer than the regular one.
Both the special edition and the regular one share the same scent:
“During two short weeks in summer, several kilos of blossoms are harvested from the Jean Patou flower fields in Grasse to achieve the 10,600 flowers required for just one bottle of Joy perfume. A floral bouquet of Bulgarian rose, Ylang-Ylang, Tuberose and Grasse Jasmine, the scent is a timeless masterpiece in simplicity.”
