N10. 1939 Brough Superior SS100- $425,943

This 1939 Brough Superior SS100 starts the list with the most expensive bikes. It was sold in April this year (2014) for $425,943.

However, this motorcycle isn’t entirely original. It is documented to have been built for and used by George Brough.

Originally attached as a sidecar, the bike was registered by George Brough on May 1939 and intended for the publicity and promotional purposes.

The engine number is with two digits higher than the last Brough to leave the factory. Although there was no Works Record card found, the bike sold for such amount because its origins and originality.
