Thanksgiving at Lighthouse Community Church

On Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2007, over fifteen members and friends
of the Lighthouse Community Church, 901 W. Blunt, Downs, KS, gathered at
the church for the final preparations for Thanksgiving Day Dinner and
Fellowship.
Pastor George Henry literally lent his hands in the preparations
by cooking and mashing 50 pounds of potatoes! Forty-seven dinners were delivered to twenty-one locations in Downs between 11:00 and 11:30 am. Beginning at 12:00 P.M the kitchen crew served fifty-seven dinners to the community who chose to come to the church for a meal and fellowship. This year the Golden Living Center in Downs prepared meals and delivered them to Cawker City and Glen Elder and served additional guests at their dining room. This was a concerted effort and a very successful one. |
